On 4/29/2020, Governor Murphy issued Executive Order no. 133, which authorizes the opening of State Parks and Golf Courses.
On 4/30/2020, Mayor Andrew LaBruno and OEM Coordinator/Police Chief Michael Conner determined that all Dumont parks and recreation facilities shall continue to remain closed at this time. The decision to keep our parks closed is based on public health concerns related to the continued possible spread of the COVID-19 as Bergen County remains the epicenter of this public health crisis.
Our number one priority is the health and safety of our residents, and we believe the early decisions made by the Borough of Dumont helped to limit the spread and saved lives in our community. Yesterday was the first day since March 13th that no new cases of COVID-19 were reported among our Dumont family. As friends and neighbors, we have joined together to help limit the spread and flatten the curve. Now is the time to remain vigilant and stay the course as we battle this crisis as a community.
The Borough of Dumont will continue to monitor the progression of COVID-19 in the Borough and assess when there is no longer a threat to human life and health. We appreciate your understanding and wish each of you continued safety and health during this unprecedented public health crisis.
