The Dumont Police Department is accepting resumes for the position of Police Officer. Qualified applicants must be PTC Certified or NJ Alternate Route Certified by June 21, 2019. Candidates are required to be 18-35 years of age, a citizen of the United States, a resident of the State of NJ, and possess a NJ Drivers License. Resumes must be submitted in person at the Dumont Police Department, 50 Washington Ave., Dumont NJ 07628 by June 21, 2019. The Borough of Dumont is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The Borough of Dumont is seeking a part-time violations clerk for the Municipal Court. The violations clerk is responsible for data entry, case scheduling, payment processing, daily reconciliation of traffic/criminal accounts, and preparation of daily deposits and maintenance of the court’s master file. Candidate must provide superior customer service to the public by way of phone, email and written correspondence in addition to handling all in-person traffic at the violations window. Prior Municipal Court experience preferred, including use of ATS/ACS, MACS and PageCenter systems but willing to train. Knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel required.  Successful candidate must comply with the New Jersey Rules of Court, Supreme Court Directives, laws and established policies and procedures governing the operation of the Municipal Courts.

Hours: Flexible hours, 3 hours/day, Monday - Friday between 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

Mandatory Court Sessions: Usually 2nd and 4th Monday at 5:00 pm, Special Sessions as needed.
